LAHORE - Jamaat Ehle Sunnat leaders said that hindering the Defence Pakistan conference by the government is regretful. They said observing the defense day was right of every citizen. “We have always played our due role for peace in the country but the government was trying our patriotism by using odd tactics to stop our gathering,” they said.

Jamaat’s Defence Pakistan conference was scheduled to be held at Nasir Bagh on Friday but the police cordoned off the area and did not let participants to enter the venue. According to Jamaat Ehle Sunnat leaders, police also arrested more than 100 of their workers. They were released later.

Jamaat held the conference on the road wherein Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi, Maulana Masoodur Rahman Usman, Auragnzeb Farooqi and others addressed.

They warned the government of a sit-in on October 4 at Islamabad if their demands of arresting the killers of Jamaat’s workers were not fulfilled.
