Breakfast is known to be the most important meal of the day. A healthy breakfast can tremendously help us in leading the perfect day. During the night when we are asleep for around 9 to 10 hours, our body organs burn around 500 to 600 calories.  

Nowadays, skipping breakfast has become common practice due to several reasons. What we need to realise is that this practice leads to many diseases and conditions such as weight gain, heart diseases, weakening of bones, irritability, mood swings, low energy levels, weak memory, mental stress, high blood pressure, and an unhealthy assortment of blood-fats.  

According to a study, which spanned over 16 years and involved 27,000 participants, that looked at the correlation between lifestyle choices (e.g, skipping breakfast) and their outcomes regarding health, 27% suffered from heart diseases and many among them had lost their life due to coronary artery diseases for having skipped breakfasts.  

It was also found out that people who were single, smokers, in full-time employment, consumed more alcohol, younger, or less physically active, were more likely to skip breakfasts. This not only increases one’s visits to the doctor, but also compromises on the quality of diet, sleeping habits, and level of physical activity. I request everyone not to skip their breakfast and try to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
