ISLAMABAD (APP) - The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected appeals of the federation against grant of bail to Maulana Abdul Aziz by the Islamabad High Court in four cases. It issued notice to special prosecutor general in another case and adjourned hearing till April 9. A two-member bench comprising Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Chaudhry Ijaz heard the appeals for cancellation of the bail of Maulana Abdul Aziz, former Khateeb of Lal Masjid. The court agreed to hear the plea for bail of Maulana in Children Library. The IHC had granted bail to Maulana Aziz in four cases related to abduction of Chinese nationals, police officials, Rangers personnel and a woman named Shamim. It had, however, rejected the bail plea in Children Library case. Shaukat Siddiqui appeared as counsel for Maulana Abdul Aziz while Ilyas Siddiqui, who was to represent the federation did not appear.
