LAHORE - Indus Motor Company will be unveiling the new 2011 Corolla model in coming week of April. The new model (XLI/GLI) is more stylish and gives a very elegant/sleek look with its redesigned fascia including new vibrant and sharp headlamps, aggressively sporty front grill and bumpers along with redesigned tail lamps, says a press release. In a statement issued by IMC, it was stated that the new price of XLI & GLI variants will be Rs 1,399,000 and 1,529,000 respectively. The price increase is primarily because of high inflationary trend that is putting enormous cost pressures on IMC during last one year only. The cost of total local components/parts has increased by Rs 40,000. Up till now, IMC has been absorbing most of the rising costs. However, the rising oil prices due to political turmoil in Middle East coupled with stronger yen post tsunami have resulted in escalation of prices. IMC remains committed to take up all cost reduction initiatives through localisation and productivity enhancement.
