LAHORE PML-N MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has said Lahore will again be made a city of wrestling. He expressed these views on the occasion of a 'Dangal held at Wrestling Stadium Iqbal Park in connection with the Lahore Shopping Festival here Thursday. Hamza Shahbaz said Lahore had been the biggest centre of wrestling in the sub-continent and the home of famous wrestlers. He vowed the Punjab government would promote the ancient, but very prominent cultural aspect of the city in the province and would revive this dieing tradition. A modern wrestling stadium will be constructed in Lahore for this purpose and the wrestlers will be fully encouraged, he added. Hamza further said that wrestling was an ancient sport of the world and this game could not be promoted without the patronage and encouragement of the government. Therefore, the Punjab government has decided to promote this sport along with other games, he said. A turban was worn to Hamza Shahbaz on the occasion. In the end, he distributed prizes and cash awards among the wining wrestlers. MNA Pervaiz Malik and SVP LCCI Sheikh M Arshad were also present there.
