RAWALPINDI - Former City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Saud Aziz and SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad, arrested in PPP slain Chairperson Benazir Bhutto murder case, have been set free from Adiala Jail on Thursday after submission of surety bounds and surrendering their passports. According to details, the lawyer of both police officials submitted their surety bounds worth Rs 1million including passports in Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Number 3, after which the court issued orders to jail authorities to release CPO Syed Saud Aziz and SP Khurram from Adiala Jail. After the release, both police officials have been taken from Adiala Jail by law-enforcers amid tight security. Lahore High Court had granted bails to both the accused, nabbed in connection with Benazir Bhutto murder case. On December 22, 2010, the Judge of the ATC Rawalpindi No 3 Rana Nisar Ahmed Khan rejected bail applications of former CPO Syed Saud Aziz and former SP Rawal Town Khurram Shahzad for being allegedly involved in the BB assassination case.
