LAHORE- President Asif Ali Zardari declared here on Saturday that the PPP-led government will resolve the issue of the proprietary rights for the Okara farmlands’ tenants.

He said that he was aware that the tenants had been agitating for their proprietary rights for the past several decades and a resolution had eluded them. “But the present government, like other seemingly intractable issues, will resolve this one too - amicably and in consultation with all the stakeholders, said Zardari’s spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar, quoting the President’s meeting with a delegation of the representatives of the tenants who called on him at the Governor’s House.

ANOTHER REPORT ADDS: The smile of Zardari has become symbol of terror for enemies of democracy. These views were expressed by People’s Lawyers Forum Lahore President Mian Shahid Abbas during a meeting with President Zardari at the Governor’s House. He demanded President Zardari to appoint PPP forum members on important government slots as early as possible. He said the PPP workers were happy on the visit of the President and hoped that PPP would form next government in Punjab.
