On October 7, 2009, the Balochistan High Court had issued directives to register a case on the request of Nawabzada Jamil Bugti, the son of Nawab Bugti.Following the court order, the Dera Bugti police booked former president Pervez Musharraf, ex-PM Shaukat Aziz, former Balochistan governor Owais Ghani, ex-CM Jam Yousuf, former home minister Mir Shoaib Nowsharwani and former interior minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao. However, the case was transferred to the Crime Branch Police after the Dera Bugti police expressed compulsions.
