MIRPUR (AJK) - The visiting Lord Nazir Ahmed of the British House of Lords here Thursday lambasted President Asif Zardari’s policies, fearing the continuation and implementation of the self-created Kashmir policy of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf by President Zardari. He was addressing the first-ever public convention of the PML-N AJK chapter here late Thursday which was earlier postponed wind storm when the party’s Supremo Nawaz Sharif came to the dice for address.Lashing out at the sitting Prime Minister Ch Abdul Majeed-led coalition government of AJK, Lord Nazir said, “the AJK ruling clique of ‘Majaawers” (Devotees) had imposed a ban on his arrival in his ancestral land - Azad Jammu & Kashmir”. “But despite these sanctions imposed by the AJK ruling junta - I came to native town (Mirpur) receiving a rousing reception from my city fellows besides the people from other parts of AJK”, he maintained.Without naming the sitting PPP-led Pakistani coalition government and its-backed sitting ruling party of AJK, Lord Nazir asserted that those who had declared India as “Most Favorite Nation” were opposing his view of the fact that he was the staunch supporter of the Kashmiris legitimate right to self-determination.Lauding PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif, the British MP described Nawaz as the only popular supreme leader of national repute equally popular from Khyber to Karachi and from Baluchistan to Kashmir.Recounting Nawaz’s national services, Lord Nazir pointed out that Nawaz Sharif crowned a great respect and honour to Pakistan through exercising the nuclear tests by giving a matching response to India - who’s then Prime Minister Vajpayee drove to Pakistan with immediate changed pleasant approach.
