ISLAMABAD - Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will not be part of the Supreme Court bench that will hear the petition against former president Pervez Musharraf seeking action against him under Article 6 of the Constitution, TV channels reported on Sunday.

Now, reports say, Justice Jawwad S Khwaja will head the three-judge bench.

The hearing of the petition is scheduled to start on Monday (today). A senior leader of Gen Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League, Ahmed Raza Kasuri, said in an interview on Saturday that the chief justice should not sit on the bench because everyone knows he was biased against the former president. Also, he had said, the former president would express his no-confidence against the chief justice.
