KARACHI - Two people including a three-year-old child were killed in different areas of Karachi on Monday while 112 suspects were also arrested during the targeted operation.
A man was killed on sectarian grounds in Gulbahar police precincts.
Police said the gunmen riding a motorbike barged into the Al-Abbas Barky at Hassan Colony and opened fire which wounded the 52-year-old Anwar Shah Hussain. The assailants managed to escape from the scene while the victim was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. They handed the body over to the family after autopsy.
Police suspected the victim’s brother had also been killed similarly in Punjab. Police said the investigation would reveal that the incident was occurred either on sectarian grounds or on personal enmity. Following the incident, tension prevailed in the areas where commercial and non-commercial activities were also suspended.
Shah Latif police found a body of a three-year-old child from a water tank of the house situated in the slum locality of Bhains Colony. Police said the victim child was identified as Danish Jatoi, resident of neighboring house. He went missing from April 2. Police handed the body over to the family after autopsy and started probe. 
Meanwhile, as many as 112 suspects were arrested during the targeted operation. Police claimed to have arrested 76 suspects while two were killed during an alleged encounter. The arrested accused included 16 absconders.
