Kidnapped deputy secretary NA reaches back home

MULTAN- Abducted deputy secretary of National Assembly (NA) Moazzam Kalru reached back to his home as freed by abductors today.

Moazzam Kalru was kidnapped on January 25, 2014, from Nawabpur area of Multan when he was en route by car to his farmhouse. Media reports say that he was released after payment of Rs4 crores as ransom money to the abductors. No group had claimed responsibility for kidnapping the high-level government official.

Police said the deputy secretary was returning from his mango farm in Sandilian when four armed men on a motorcycle and in a car kidnapped him, local media reported. Police suspected that a small gang-war group was responsible for the abduction. It may be mentioned that Kalru was kidnapped from NA-151 which is the same constituency from where former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider was kidnapped earlier last year.
