PESHAWAR - Advisor to Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President Amir Muqam said on Monday that his party wouldn’t destabilise the PTI provincial government.
He said that his party had accepted the people’s mandate given to the PTI. “Let it to rule the province,” he said, adding the PML-N was in a better position to form government in the province after May 2013 elections by inviting dissidents and independents but avoided doing so.
Speaking at a news conference here, he said that it was the PTI right to govern the province. On this occasion, a notable from Bajaur Agency Naushad Khan of Charmang joined the PML-N. He said that N-League was against and would be against the horse-trading “We respect and will respect mandate of people.
He said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan should monitor performance of his party-led government. The PTI own lawmakers, he said were talking about poor governance in KP and it had opened eyes of the PTI top brass.
Amir Muqam who is also the party’s coordinator for FATA said that PML-N wanted to end discrimination meted out to tribesmen and extend the country’s laws to tribal areas. “It is up to the tribal people to decide for an independent status with their own assembly or merger with Khyber Pakthunkhwa,” he added.
He said that the PML-N government was taking serious steps for establishment of sustainable and durable peace in the KP and FATA, adding Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif is himself monitoring the process of the peace negotiations between government and Taliban.
To a query, he said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took step to hold talks with Taliban after consultation with all political parties. He said that his party want to establish everlasting peace without further shedding blood of innocent people in the country.
