ISLAMABAD - In accordance with the laid down guidelines of the Supreme Court, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday approved promotion of five Police Services of Pakistan officers in grade 21 and referred cases of six officers back to Central Selection Board for review.

The officers who got promotion included Arif Nawaz, Munir Chishti, Amlish Ahmed, Amjad Saleemi and Sardar Abdul Maheed.

The cases of Rana Altaf Majeed, Farooq Amin Qureshi, Sain Mir Bahar, Capt Tahir Naveed, Masud Khan Afridi and Amir Hamza Mehsud were sent back for review.

Meanwhile, the PM also approved promotions of two custom officers namely Robina Akhtar and Tariq Ahad Nawaz in BS-21, while the cases of Khawar Farid Manika and Fateh Sheikh were sent back to Central Selection Board for review.

Moreover, the PM approved the appointments of Amjad Ali Khan as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary, Arbab Shahzad as KPK Secretary, Qasim Niaz as Secretary States and Frontier Region, Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera as Additional Secretary In-charge Privatisation and Iqbal Mehmood as Inspector General Police Sindh.
