RAWALPINDI: City Traffic Police on Monday chalked out a comprehensive traffic plan to avoid inconvenience on Benazir Bhutto Road and its link roads during the construction work of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service (MBS) project.

According to the traffic plan announced by newly appointed Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shohaib Khurram Janbaz, the commuters who want to go to Islamabad from Saddar area of Rawalpindi should use Airport Road via Koral Chowk or Peshawar Road via IJP Road or Golra Mor to reach their destination. Those commuters who wish to come to Rawalpindi city may use Rawal Road, Saidpur Road and IJP Road to avoid any mess during the construction of the said project, he added.

He said more traffic wardens had also been deputed to control the traffic mess and guide the citizens. He said that a control room had been established in Traffic Headquarter to control the situation.–Israr Ahmed
