LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that reforms of revolutionary nature are being introduced for the provision of quality public health facilities in the province and billions of rupees are being spent for this purpose.

He was addressing a high level meeting through video link at Civil Secretariat, here on Tuesday which reviewed the performance of mobile health units. The meeting also decided to enhance medical facilities in mobile health units.

The chief minister said that maximum resources would be made available for ensuring modern treatment facilities to the masses. Granting approval to increase in the number of mobile health units, the chief minister directed Health Department to take immediate steps for the purchase of more mobile health units of international standard during the current fiscal year.

Shahbaz Sharif further said that third-party auditwas necessary for judging the performance of mobile health units. He said that third-party audit should be conducted regularly for reviewing provision of quality healthcare facilities to the masses. He said that proper arrangements should also be made for the shifting of patients from remote villages to mobile health units or hospitals.
