The world-renowned rights outfit Kashmir Watch International (KWI) condemned the recent killing of eight unarmed Kashmiri protestors in Baramula district of Indian-held Kashmir by the Indian Border Security Force, a KWI spokesman said.

The KWI has demanded of the International Court of Justice to order immediate probe into the killing to bring the perpetrators to book in the disputed Himalayan state, Muhammad Zafar told reporters.

Addressing a session of the organisation at its headquarters in Nottingham, KWI Chairman Mir Muhammad Sideeque Khawaja also urged the Indian government to appoint an independent commission to promptly and transparently investigate the killing of Kashmiri protestors by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) troops in occupied Jammu and Kashmir state.

“The Indian government and its puppet administration in the occupied Kashmir should act to end the Indian troops  longstanding impunity for a large number of killings of innocent Kashmiris over many years in the disputed Himalayan state,” the KWI chief demanded, according to the spokesman.

Sideeque observed that the tragic incident is the testimony to the deep hatred that Indian occupation harbours towards the Muslims of the Indian-held Jammu & Kashmir and their faith. The massacre in various parts of Baramula and earlier in Ramban brings to fore the countless massacres that India has carried out across the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir since 1947, especially the massacre of three lakh Muslims in Jammu,” the KWI chief recalled.
