PESHAWAR - Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Leader Khurshid Alam on Tuesday resigned from the party basic membership and announced joining the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) caravan.

The announcement he made during a press conference in presence of PTI leaders and provincial lawmakers from PK-5 and PK-6 Yasin Khalil and Fazl-i-Elahi at press club. On the occasion besides PTI office-bearers from PK-6 and notables of the area were also present.

Speaking at the press conference, Fazal Elahi welcomed the joining of workers from various political parties in the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf, which he said, was reflecting good policies of the party-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He claimed the PTI will clean sweep in the upcoming local government elections in the province. He said the provincial government has fully implemented its agenda of change.

Elahi also expressed his anger over the attitude of federal departments’ officials like WAPDA, SNGPL and NADRA towards the problems being faced the people of this province. He urged the federal government to change its policy and ensure the pro-masses resolution attitude of the employees.

He also raised the issue of blocking Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) of genuine Pakistanis. He also accused NADRA officials of issuing bogus CNICs in large number to Afghan nationals. He asked the federal government to take notice for the reddressal of issues pertaining to WAPDA, NADRA and SNGPL, otherwise, they would again take to streets and protest against the government.
