LAHORE - A book “Ravi Kinaray” written by Deputy District Officer (Roads), City District Government Lahore Mian Muhammad Latif Akhtar was launched on Tuesday.

The launching ceremony was held at Alhamra Hall, The Mall which was attended by famous scholars including former Data Darbar prayer leader Hazrat Maulana Maqsood Ahmad Qadri.

A 496-page book is about the history and culture of Lahore, Sharqpur Sharif and Saidwala Town of District Nankana Sahib. The writer had also written about Ravi River, flood seasons and about the river bed.

The information about Saidwala, a town in District Nankana Sahib, is very interesting for the readers in respective of its historical importance and background.

The writer also threw light on the history of Lahore including Lahore Fort, Walled City, Badshahi Mosque.

Metro Bus, underpasses, Azadi Chowk, interchanges and other development projects which have molded the history have also been narrated comprehensively in the book.

Renowned educational institutions including Punjab University, Government College University and other institutions were also discussed in the book. Muhammad Ramzan Anwar, Mian Latif Akhtar, Mian Liaqat Ahmed and Muhammad Ashraf Janjua also spoke on the occasion.
