WASHINGTON - The United States has said it was upto Pakistan to decide whether to join the Saudi-led military coalition against Houthi rebels in Yemen.

“Every country can make their own decisions about whether to join these kinds of efforts.  The same goes for the Pakistanis, certainly,” Marie Harf, the acting spokesperson of the State Department, said in response to a question about how US will react if Pakistani Parliament decided to allow Pakistani armed forces to join the coalition.

She made no further comments on the issue, despite more questions from the correspondent.
