Islamabad - Shifa International Hospital on Tuesday organised “Walk for Health” at Shifa International Hospital in connection with World Health Day.

The objective of this walk was to promote active and healthy living. People were holding colourful balloons and placards with messages.

Dr Mian Amjad Sohail, Director Medical Services, said that ‘World Health Day’ is an opportunity to recognise the important food safety role of all involved in food production, and to strengthen collaboration and coordination between these different areas, to prevent, detect and respond to food borne diseases. Risks to food safety can arise throughout the food chain, which is why many different sectors - health, agriculture, transport, environment, food service and the food industry - must collaborate to ensure that the food supply is secure, and the food on our plates is safe, he added.

Chief Operating Officer SIH Aziz Ahmad Jan said that walk was arranged to give masses a message that only physical activities and healthy sports can lead them to a better and productive life. He stressed that we should regularly do exercise and eat healthy to live a good life and avoid medical complications in old age.
