4-point formula presented to PM for defusing crisis: Siraj

PESHAWAR -  Jamaat Islami (JI) Central Ameer Sirajul Haq has urged the federal government to seriously consider the four-point formula presented to the prime minister for defusing the existing crisis. "Through this formula the nation can be pulled out of the existing crisis like situation," he stated this while addressing a press conference at the Al-Markaz Islami, Peshawar. He said had the Election Commission played its due role, the existing crisis like situation would not have been developed.
He said that now ball is in the court of government and should seriously consider the genuine demands of PTI. "Imran Khan-led PTI is a rival party in the existing situation, as his party activists are making preparations for 'Azadi March' to record their protest against the government in Islamabad on August 14," he added.
Flanked by Al-Khidmat Foundation Provincial President Noorul Haq, Sirajul Haq said that presently the country is passing through a critical phase and masses are concerned about Constitution and democracy. "Sensing gravity of the situation, we are struggling to sort out a suitable solution to the problem," he said.
Comic
He said that August 14 is the day of independence but Imran Khan has given a call for 'Azadi March' against the government in Islamabad while the federal government is making preparations for Independence Day celebrations but we do not want the August 14 becomes a comic for the world over. That's why, he said, "we have decided to contact all political forces and met PTI chairman Imran Khan to listen his point of view and finally met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to apprise him of the PTI chief's viewpoint and then also presented a four-point formula to pull the country out of the existing crisis," he maintained.
Siraj said the prime minister has made a commitment with him that a decision would be taken in this regard after consultation with his party leadership.
He warned the time is quite limited if an early solution was not sort out then situation could be gone out of control. "We are also in favour of electoral reforms. We also believe in free, fair and transparent elections under an independent and strong Election Commission," he added. He said that rigging was also committed in Karachi, Hyderabad and FATA and that should also be discouraged and mandate of masses should not be robbed.
