Government scrambles to secure the capital

ISLAMABAD- The strategy to seal the twin cities, in view of the ‘Azadi March’ has been finalized. 1000 containers are arriving in Islamabad, to be employed at various locations in the twin cities.

Entrance routes to Islamabad and Rawalpindi will be sealed using 600 and 400 containers respectively. Also, Red Zone will be sealed off on August 10. It seems the government is readily making arrangements to cope with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) long march, scheduled for August 14.

Moreover, holidays of police officials have been cancelled in the twin cities. More policemen will arrive in Islamabad tomorrow from Azad Kashmir and Punjab. Elite Force commandos have been deployed at several roads in Islamabad and have been told to set up surprise check-points every now and then.

Rangers are also going to be stationed to prevent PTI workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KPK) from entering Islamabad, according to our sources. Entrance into Islamabad will be prohibited without the National Identity Card (NIC) and the law enforcement agencies have been ordered to immediately arrest anyone who fails to show the NIC. As per the police sources, rubber bullets and tear gas may be used in case of emergency.
