Islamabad - Tarnol police have arrested four persons involved in depriving people of their valuables after portraying themselves as cops.

A police spokesman said on Friday that one Jehanzeb Tariq submitted an application with Tarnol police station on August 1, 2015 that he along with his friends was travelling on GT Road when three persons, riding a car bearing registration number GU-509 with green number plate signalled them to stop near Sangjani. He said that they were wearing police commando uniforms and ATS was written on front as well backside of their shirts. The complainant said that they accused his other friends to be involved in one-wheeling and started their physical search. A total of Rs 8,500 and CNICs were taken away from them and handed over to another person in plain clothes sitting on front seat of the car. He said that they also threatened him and his friends and asked them to leave the scene. Following the compliant, a Tarnol police later arrested the accused namely Waqar Yunus, Wazeer Abbas, Ali Raza and a police constable Irfan.
