Rawalpindi - A crime victim lodged compliant with the city police officer (CPO) on Friday against station house officer (SHO) and an investigation officer of Rawat Police Station for giving clean-chit to four alleged dacoits, who looted cash from the victim’s factory at gunpoint, without making arrests or probing the matter on merit.

CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, while accepting the application, ordered Deputy Superintendent of Police (Legal) Raja Azmat Hayyat to investigate the matter and submit report.

According to details, a citizen Adnan Khurshid son of Muhammad Khurshid (late) appeared before the CPO and stated that four dacoits made their forcefully entry into his factory on January 26, 2015 while impersonating food inspectors, snatched Rs 45,000 cash from his employees at gunpoint and fled. The applicant mentioned that he got registered a case under section 392/171 PPC against the dacoits with Rawat Police Station but police made no arrest despite his several requests. He added that SHO Malik Asif Nawaz and Investigation Officer (IO) Sub-Inspector Saeed Kayani discharged the case and gave a clean-chit to four dacoits without launching investigation or informing him. He sought strict action against the two police officers and demanded of the CPO to change the investigation officer of his case and provide him with justice.

Talking to The Nation CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi confirmed that he had received a complaint against SHO Rawat and had ordered the DSP to reinvestigate the matter. He said that he would also take stern action against the accused police officers if they are found guilty.
