Lecturers to get education from UK

LAHORE - Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that according to Chief Minister’s Faculty Development Programme, the lecturers of government colleges will get education from best British universities.
According to a handout issued on Friday, he expressed these views during a meeting with delegation of Association of Colleges London and British Council in London. He said that the teachers have vital role in education system and the Government is using all out resources to encourage them.
While talking to the delegation, the minister said that the purpose of Faculty Development Program is to provide best and modern education opportunities to lecturers of Govt colleges for capacity building and promotion of education.
He said that the program has been started with cooperation of British Council and it will improve standard of quality education. He also praised the assistance of UK in different spheres of life including education and health.
Earlier, talking to Overseas Pakistanis at Pakistan Embassy, the minister said that expatriates are ambassadors of Pakistan and Overseas Pakistanis Commission has been set up to facilitate them and address their issues.
He said that role of Overseas Pakistanis Commission is commendable as it is addressing the issues of expatriates on priority basis. He said that though the homeland is facing numerous problems including unemployment, load shedding and terrorism but PML-N Government is determined to steer the country out of these challenges with cooperation of masses.
He said that confidence of foreign investors has restored by policies of the government and our economy is improving little by little. He said that we will get rid of menace of load shedding till end of 2017.
