LAHORE - CCPO Capt (r) Muhammad Amin Wains has said that Lahore police have recovered the looted articles worth 34 crore 77 lakh 26 thousand and 645 rupees and cash from 2,841 accused of 899 gangs of dacoits during current year and handed the same to the real owners.

He expressed these views while distributing cash, jewelry and other precious items worth Rs seven crore to the real owners looted from them during dacoity, robbery and theft at Alhamra, on Friday.

DIG Investigation Sultan Chaudhry, SSP CIA Umar Virk and other police officers were present on the occasion. CCPO said that protection of life, property and honor of the people is top priority of police and Lahore police is discharging this duty efficiently.

He said that police is not only arresting the accused involved in dacoity and theft but also returning the recovered articles to the real owners.

Raheela Yasmin resident of Model Town while receiving the recovered money said that she has contacted first time to police in any complaint and she was pleased that the police not only immediately registered any FIR of the dacoity but she did not face any problem during investigation and today she has received the looted money.
