Regrettably, corruption is a big issue in Pakistan. The menace of corruption has affected all and sundry. Our public and private sector organizations, be it police, revenue, electricity, passport and immigration or other business ventures are all plagued by extortion, bribery. In such a dismal scenario, it is difficult to accept the explanation given by Transparency International (TI) in its recent report regarding the menace of corruption in Pakistan. It suggests that the corruption level has relatively decreased during the past five months of the current government in power. In Sindh, one finds that the provincial government lacks the will to fight the menace of corruption. The truth is that corruption is rising in this country. The TI report is questionable.
