Kandhkot - Kashmore Police on Thursday arrested seven alleged hardened criminals who were wanted in connection with heinous crimes.
Police said it had also recovered huge amount of money as well as arms and ammunition from their possession.
Addressing a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bashir Ahmed Brohi said that as a result of a large-scale operation against notorious criminals in katcha area of the district, particularly in Jamal, Miyani, Badani, Gheehalpur and Gublo, police succeeded in nabbing seven most wanted criminals namely Imran Mahamdani, Esso Sabzoi, Akram Machi, Dhani Bux alias Bagho Sabzoi, Mahboob Oghahi, Hakim Oghahi and Nazir Oghahi.
The SSP said that those held had confessed to have committed dacoities, kidnappings for ransom and other offences. “Furthermore, police have also recovered Rs0.6 million 75 thousand and eight hundred rupees from their possession,” he elaborated.
He told media that three hand grenades, one Kalashnikov, two TT pistols, one rifle, one repeater, two kg of hashish and hundreds of cartridges and bullets were also recovered from them, while further investigation was underway.
Brohi also claimed that police had smashed dozens of hideouts of criminals in katcha areas during the last three months besides arresting more than 120 absconders and as many as 60 proclaimed offenders.
