Reconstruction of girls high school demanded

MIRPURKHAS :  Students as well as teachers of Government Girls’ High School Mirwah Gorchani are feeling unsafe after the collapse of boundary wall of their school.

Shehry Haqooq Committee Chairman Muhammad Ali Rajput, Muhammad Ismail Khilji, Abdul Waheed Abbasi and Malik Mushtaq Ahmed have lamented that nobody has bothered to reconstruct the boundary wall.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, they said that boundary wall of the school had collapsed about a month ago, affecting the privacy of girls and over a dozen teachers of the school. However, still no measure has been taken as yet to rebuild the wall, they complained.

They expressed the surprise that while on one hand, the government claimed to have provided a safe environment at schools and other educational institutions, on the other hand this school was without boundary wall for a month now, but still nobody was paying attention.

They said that LBOD drain was also situated close to the school, which contained snakes and other poisonous creatures.

They further said that situation had deteriorated to such an extent that students were leaving the school and the academic activities were being affected.

They demanded the Sindh chief minister and provincial minister for education to take immediate notice of the matter, and ensure reconstruction of the boundary wall at the earliest; otherwise they would be compelled to hold protests against the government.
