Farhan Mehboob win in CNS Int’l Squash

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s Farhan Mehboob started his $18,000 13th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) International Squash Championship 2018 campaign well by ousting Hong Kong’s Henry Leung in the second round match played at Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Fleet Club Saddar Karachi on Friday. Mehboob started the first game on a slow note and went onto take it 11-6. He won the second game 11-9 and third 11-7 to wrap up the match in 25 minutes. Top seed Arturo Salazar of Mexico beat Hong Kong’s Tang Ming Hong 3-0, winning 11-4, 11-8, 11-5, Egyptian Youssef Ibrahim stunned 8th seed Israr Ahmed 3-0, winning 11-6, 11-6, 11-6, 7th seed Shahjahan Khan stunned Farhan Zaman 3-1, winning 15-13, 11-7, 9-11, 11-6, Kuwaiti Ammar Altamimi routed Amaad Fareed 3-0, winning 11-6, 11-6, 11-6, Hong Kong’s Tsz Kwan Lau hammered 6th seed Ahsan Ayaz of Pakistan 3-0, winning 11-6, 12-10, 11-8, 5ht seed Rui Soares beat Zahir Shah of Pakistan 3-0, winning 11-1, 11-8, 12-10, second seed Asim Khan survived a scare against Iran’s Sajad Zareian Jahromi, as he won 3-2 with the score of 12-14, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-6.–Staff Reporter
