WASHINGTON :  Senior officials from the United States and Turkey are set to step up the frequency of their meetings on Syria and are committed to achieving progress on their Manbij Roadmap by the end of 2018, the US Embassy in Turkey said in a press release on Friday.

“Turkey and the United States share a commitment to address effectively the security concerns of both countries consistent with their obligations to one another as Allies, and look forward to continued progress on issues of mutual interest regarding the ongoing crisis in Syria,” the embassy said in the release after a meeting of the Turkish-US High-Level Working Group on Syria in Ankara.

“For this purpose, both sides agreed to increase the frequency of Working Group meetings on Syria.”

The two sides also committed to achieving progress on the Manbij Roadmap by the end of the year, the release added.

“They agreed to continue to work on joint planning with regard to other areas as mentioned in the Manbij Roadmap,” the embassy said.
