RAWALPINDI - A Christmas cake cutting ceremony was held here at Holy Family Hospital (HFH) Church here on Tuesday.

Addressing the ceremony, Parliamentary Secretary for Anti-Narcotics Division Sheikh Rashid Shafique congratulated the Christian community and said that millions of Christians worldwide, including Pakistan, were preparing to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ.  He said Islam taught the lesson of peace, friendship, and the promotion of inter-faith harmony was the dire need of the hour.

He said that such events contributed to inter-faith coherence and harmony in the country. Shafique said that all minorities, including Christians, enjoyed equal rights in Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Literacy and Non-Formal Education Raja Rashid Hafiz congratulated the Christian community.

He said the Christian community was an essential part of our society and were extending significant services in education, health and other fields of life.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali distributed gifts among the children who performed on the occasion.

Incharge Holy Family Church Babu Sajid Amin Khokhar, District Hateeb Hafiz Iqbal Rizvi, many people, particularly Christians, attended the ceremony.
