LAHORE (APP) The three-member delegation of the Indus Water Commission from India along with their Pakistani counterparts inspected two sites of Balloki and Sadhnai at River Ravi on the first day of their inspection tour to Pakistan on Sunday. Indus Water Commissioner Pakistan Syed Jamaat Ali Shah talking to APP said that the visiting delegation headed by Indian Commissioner for Indus Water G Aranga Nathan conducted the inspection as per requirement of the treaty. He said under the Article 84-C of treaty a complete 'general tours inspections on both the sides within five years was mandatory. The visit is part of the mechanism to inspect the infrastructure and ensure implementation of the treaty and to redress concerns and narrow down the differences by processing the issues, before entering into a dialogue on water between both the countries, he added. The delegation will also visit Sulemanki and Islam Headworks during the remaining days of their stay in Pakistan before leaving for India on 10th of the current month.
