ISLAMABAD - The National Assembly (NA) session starts here at the Parliament House today (Monday) while the session of Senate was summoned on Tuesday. The NA and Senate would likely debate the overall law and order situation in the country with special reference to the recent spate of Karachi violence. The members of both the houses had also submitted an adjournment motion to debate the recent hike in the prices of petroleum products and the conviction of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui by a US court. The NA would likely to discuss the ongoing military operation in South Waziristan Agency in the backdrop of the United States decision to go for dialogue with Taliban in Afghanistan. The reconstruction and rehabilitation work in Malakand Division and Swat would also figure in the NA. The house would also take up discussion on the political and economic situation, particularly the energy crisis in the country. Sources in the PPP informed that they also wanted to table the NAC Bill before the Parliament during the current NA session which would continue till Feb. 24, provided it would be cleared by the NA Standing Committee on Law and Justice.
