Missing kids case returned to police

LAHORE The District and Sessions Court on Monday directed the mother of three missing minors to move the concerned police station against her husband for registration of a criminal case against him. Nusrat Jamil, a resident of Gulbahar Colony, in Cantt, filed a habeas corpus petition contending that she married Jamil Akbar in 1999 and they had four children. She said, in her petition, that a divorce took place on March 29, 2010, after which she moved the court to reclaim her dower amount Rs 50,000. On this Jamil became furious and visited my residence with some other hooligans. She alleged that her husband tortured her and her three minors severely and took them forcible with him. She informed the court that Jamil also consummated a second marriage and her three children, namely Sabahat (10), Samara (9), and Minahal (four) were in illegal custody of Jamil. She said that Jamils second wife being step mother was not behaving good and nurturing the children as well, and therefore being the real mother of the minors they might be handed over her as per law. On court notices, Jamil informed it on last hearing that the minors were currently with their grandmother in Islamabad. On Monday the respondent remained failed once again to produce the minors before the court as per court orders, neither counsel of respondent nor the respondent appeared before the court along with the children. The court ordered the petitioner namely Nusrat to move the police station concerned for getting an FIR registered of a criminal case (missing minors) against the respondent.
