Pakistan wants peace with India

ISLAMABAD (Agencies) - Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan likes to be at peace with India. In an interview with Gulf News he said he was hopeful of meaningful India visit addressing all outstanding issues constructively. I have suggested to them (India) to let us work out an agenda which addresses outstanding issues between India and Pakistan, because, unless we tackle them, we cannot have lasting peace in the region, Qureshi added. We want peace and good neighbourly relations with India. We expect both countries will realise that dialogue is the only way forward. And, our issues can only be resolved if we sit together and talk to each other and look for a peaceful, negotiated settlement. We should resume the composite dialogue suspended after the Mumbai attacks, he added. Meanwhile, Foreign Office Spokesman, Abdul Basit said on Monday that dialogue is the only solution of all issues between Pakistan and India. He termed the meeting of Foreign Secretaries of the two countries in Bhutan as fruitful and both the countries have realised that dialogue is the only way to settle all the issues.
