LAHORE  - Renowned TV, film and radio artist Ghayyur Akhtar passed away on Friday in Lahore after protracted illness.  He suffered paralysis three years ago and was shifted to hospital on Thursday night after his condition deteriorated where the actor could not survive.  Ghayyur started his career in the late 1970s and became famous during 1980s. His performances in drama serials such as ‘Khawaja and Sons’ and ‘Sona Chandi’ were highly appreciated.  Ghayyur was particularly famous for his acting abilities in comedy roles. For his startling performance throughout his career, he also received Pride of Performance Award.  Ghuyyar Akhtar’s funeral prayer was offered at Mian Mir and he was laid to rest. A large number people from showbiz circle, friends and family members as well as fan attended his funeral prayer.
