Two men recovered from Lyari gangsters

KARACHI - Law enforcers claimed to have recovered two abducted persons from the captivity of Lyari gangsters and also claimed to have arrested 40 suspects including the members of banned outfits during the targeted operation.
Two abducted persons were recovered from the custody of the kidnappers-cum-gangsters during a targeted raid in Lyari.  One abducted person was identified as Wajid Ali and another as Shehzad. They were recovered by the Quick Reaction Force of the Rangers. Rangers said the raid was conducted on a tip-off at a hideout of the kidnappers in Gulistan Colony area of Lyari. Both them were kidnapped by Faisal Pathan group of Lyari gangsters.
“Both handcuffed abductees were recovered during an exchange of fire.” Under the cover of firing, the two kidnappers managed to flee leaving the abductees behind. One Wajid is the resident of Baldia Town and is an owner of Shaheen Education Academy. “He received a call for registration of a new student and then three men came to his institute and abducted him from the spot at gunpoint,” the spokesperson explained. The kidnappers, however, later demanded Rs10 million ransom for his release and warned his family of dire consequences.
The second recovered abductee Shahzad is the resident of Gulberg. He is a small trader. He was kidnapped on January 6, 2014 from a bakery where he was sitting during goods distribution. He was kidnapped by mistake in place of the real owner of the shop. His family also paid Rs800,000 ransom to the Faisal Pathan group in Kumharwara area, Lyari before the Rangers rescued him.
Separately, Rangers conducted targeted raids in Korangi, Natal Colony, Baldia Town, Kalri, Lines Area, Kharadar, AB Sina Lines, Clifton and Sajjan Goth areas and also carried out snap checking at PIDC areas.
Rangers spokesperson said the targeted search operation was also conducted on the hideouts of banned outfits in Gulshan-e-Bahar area. He claimed that during the raids, 31 hardened criminals including Lyari gang war elements, criminals affiliated with political parties and members of banned groups were arrested along with 38 weapons including the sub-machine guns (SMGs).
Targeted operation was also conducted in Hassan Noman Colony in Sohrab Goth. During the operation, the Rangers detained around eight suspects including the members of banned outfit and also recovered weapons from their possession. The detainees were shifted to an undisclosed location for further questioning.
Meanwhile, Crime Investigation Department claimed to have arrested an alleged target killer Shamoon from Sharah-e-Noor Jahan area.
CID in-charge Fayyaz Khan said during the initial course of interrogation, the accused revealed to have killed a person Arif in Sharah-e-Noor Jahan area. Further investigation was underway. Meanwhile, as many as four people were killed in different violent incidents while a teenage committed suicide.
Police found two shot dead tortured body from Korangi within the remits of Sharafi Goth police station. Police said that police found a tortured body from the garbage. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC). Another body was found from Malir riverbed within the similar police remits and shifted JPMC for autopsy.
Police said both were kidnapped and tortured before the assailants were shot them and thrown their bodies in the same locality. Both bodies were shifted morgue for identification after autopsy.
