NGO loots schools over registration

KAMALIA: A protest demonstration was held as Nazariya School System, a non-profit organisation, allegedly looted hundreds of millions of rupees from the private schools’ heads across Punjab in the name of registration.
The victims held the protest in front of NGO’s office. The DCO of Toba Tek Singh ordered registration of a case against 3 persons including the director admin of NGO. City Police made arrests and seized important documents from the sub-office.
Dozens of different private schools’ heads protested and chanted slogans against its administration. The victims told the media that the NGO first received a fee of Rs3,650 for application form and then asked for Rs6,000 more as registration fee; which were paid. Now, the NGO is demanding Rs10,000 more, they regretted. Taking immediate notice of the victims’ protest, DCO directed Tehsildar Rana Iqbal to visit the victims and after reviewing all aspects, take action against the accused. Hence on application of the tehsildar, police have filed a case against Majid Dogar, Azizur Regman and Kashif Under Section 420/468/471.
NGO Chairperson Saba Hashmi told the media that NGOs have the authority to gather funds to spend the same on the matters of public welfare.–Staff Reporter

Kidnapped youth found dead in Nankana

NANKANA SAHIB: The dead body of a missing youth was recovered from a drain (nullah) while the police arrest two suspected murderers here on Sunday.
According to police, the culprits allegedly kidnapped 20-year-old Taimur from Mughalpura, Lahore. They brought him to Nankana Sahib where they killed and dumped his body in a drain, the police informed.
The police through cellphone calls data and other evidence, traced the kidnappers. The police arrested them during a raid who during preliminary interrogation, confessed to the murder. The accused also provided information about location of the dead body which was shifted to hospital. Later the dead body was handed over to the heirs after medico-legal formalities. –Online
