AIOU introduces industrial training programme

ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University introduced industrial training programme to help young engineers promote their professional skills.

It is a one-month certificate course introduced in collaboration with Skill Development Council, officials in the Directorate Admissions said on Wednesday, adding that the programme has been initiated with the current semester, spring 2018 and admissions are opened till March 5.

It will be a regular monthly programme that will be offered whole of the year. Diploma holders in the field are eligible for admission. The programme will be conducted by department of Engineering Technology, they said.

Meanwhile, the AIOU also launched an educational leadership management programme to promote leadership skills in the educational field. It is one-year post-graduate diploma especially offered for career-development of the students.

Graduate students, having at least 45 per cent marks, are eligible to take admission in the programme. The newly-launched programmes mainly relate to the society’s socio-economic issues that also meet the market needs.–APP

The University has introduced 27 new academic programmes during the last three years, besides the skill-based short courses.
