PPL grant for Chair at MUET
Karachi (PR): "As a leading national exploration & production company, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) remains committed to strengthening academia-industry partnership for nurturing young talent informed with latest research and technology," highlighted MD and CEO PPL Syed Wamiq Bokhari during handing over of Rs7 million grant for operationalizing a Petroleum Engineering (PE) Chair at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro. PPL has committed nearly Rs 50 million over the next five years for the PE Chair.

Tevta provides Rs1b interest free loans to 18,000 students
LAHORE (PR): Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has provided interest free loans worth Rs 1 billion to 18 thousand students across the province.
Tevta Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while talking to a meeting at Tevta Secretariat said that at the end of first year after he joined Tevta, a surplus amount of Rs 500 million was available.
To utilize this amount for the students, Tevta decided to provide interest free loans to its passing out students and an agreement was signed with Akhuwat Foundation in this regard, he said.
Irfan went on saying that reason for provision of these loans was to enhance entrepreneurship culture among the youth of Punjab where they can start their own business instead of looking forward for jobs as space for less experience job holders has shrunk in recent years. Therefore we need to make our youth more empowered so if they are unable to get jobs, they could easily start their own business in their respective fields, he said.
PLRA bans tout mafia at centres
LAHORE (PR): Punjab Land Records Authority bans tout mafia at all Land Record Centers (Arazi Record Centres) across Punjab. Following the directions of chief minister Punjab, fees schedule for the payments is displayed on the website and all ARCs at main points for the convenience of the masses and this inventiveness will stop the bigotry and corruption which was carried out by the mafias.
Director General Punjab land records authority Zafar Iqbal said in a statement that all the respected citizens of Punjab are equally treated at ARCs, women and old citizen are served on priority.
No extra charges for any services and in past all the officials who were involved in corruption, not only suspended but also removed from their job permanently. PLRA strictly follows Zero tolerance policy for any ill practices.
As for as the fee of the documentation is concerned that is affordable for all citizens. Fee for `Fard` is 50 rupees for a single `Khatoni` (cultivation column) and for more than one `Khatoni` (cultivation column) fee is up to 150 rupees, 20 rupees are charged for NADRA verification. Fee for 'Inheritance mutation', 'Redemption mutation', 'Gift in favour of legal heirs' and 'Gift in favour of illegal heirs' is 500 rupees.
Computerized charges are mentioned in the documents which are paid in the Bank of Punjab booth in the ARCs. So there is not a bit of any chance to charge an extra fee by any official at ARCs.
