sadiqabad-The masses still remember PPP-led government as the incumbent rulers have failed to address the public problems.

These views were expressed by former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani during a meeting with PPP Sadiqabad City president Khalid bin Saeed here the other day.

PPP South Punjab president Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood and former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar were present on the occasion.

He pointed out that the PPP’s history was replete with sacrifices, adding that the PPP founding fathers rendered unmatchable sacrifices for democratic stability in the country. He claimed that future belonged to the PPP, adding that PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had started mass contact campaign and its results were encouraging. He said that the masses have tired of rulers’ unfulfilled promises and were joining the PPP. He said that the PPP would sweep all parties from political scenario of the country in the next general election. On the occasion, Khalid bin Saeed briefed the former premier about political situation of Rahim Yar Khan district.

A local Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) claimed that the party was being reorganised under the energetic and enthusiastic leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Addressing the party workers at the residence of PPP Minority Wing President Saith Basrohi at Public Colony, former PPP MPA Mian Aslam said that the PPP had always taken steps for welfare of the minorities. He said that people of Pakistan had become politically mature and could not be fooled anymore. “Future belongs to the PPP. The party would come into power with public assistance in next polls,” he claimed. Mian Aslam also expressed deep condolences to Saith Basrohi over the death of his mother.

On the other hand, local PPP union councils chairman and other office-bearers boycotted the party’s public meeting held at Kot Sabzal whereat PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari delivered his speech through hologram technology.

Those who boycotted the public meeting included Kot Sabzal Union Council (UC) chairman Rana Farooq Ahmed, Garhi Dhudhu UC chairman Ahmed DAshti, Fatehpur 2 Machka UC chairman Ghulam Mustafa Solangi, Kot Sanjar Khan UC chairman Alif Deen Abbasi, Bandro Abbasiyan UC chairman Haji Khalil Ahmed Tarheeli, Nawazabad UC chairman Abdus Sattar Khan Chang, District Council member Mahinwal Kosh, PP-297 constituency president Pir of Thala Sharif Khwaja Gul Muhammad Chishti, general secretary Nur Ahmed Kosh, local notable Irshad Ahmed and dozens of vice chairmen and councillors did not attend the meeting.

It is to be noted that the said chairmen and office-bearers had expressed firm belief in the leadership of former PPP leader Mumtaz Khan Chang who has now parted his ways with the party.
