DERA GHAZI KHAN-Unidentified persons set fire to Sufi shrine “Nanga Badshah” at Basti Ahmedani near Taunsa Sharif Town, 60 kilometre away from here on Wednesday.

Milad Committee Taunsa Sharif President Qadir Bakhsh Sahni along with dozens of local residents protested against the criminal act and demanded early arrest of the culprits.

The protesters said it was a disgusting act. “We are peace-loving people but this incident has hurt our spiritual elements.”

Talking to The Nation, Police Station Kala SHO Azhar Hussain said that he had inspected the scene personally and police had started operation. Strict action as per law would be taken against the perpetrators, he said. He added that there were more than 50 graves in the graveyard while that of Sufi Nanga Badshah is the oldest.

The SHO ensured that the police would take all necessary measures to bring the perpetrators to book.
