LAHORE - Waqt News clinched the EMRA Cricket Tournament trophy after defeating New News in the thrilling final played here at the Sabzazar cricket ground.

Neo News won the toss and opted to bat first. They piled a decent total of 61 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 5 overs. Waqt News replied strongly and punished the opponent bowlers so severely that they forgot their line and length. Rizwan Zeb was the star of the day for Waqt News, who kept the Neo News at bay, thus gathered significant runs for him and the team.

Waqt News captain Hasham Yousuf also batted with authority and smashed some sterling sixes and boundaries and brought his team closer to the required target. The match became a thriller in the last over of the match, which was bowled well by the Neo bowler, and the match had to be decided on the last ball with Waqt News needing three runs to score victory.

Coming up to the expectations, Rizwan Zeb smashed a cracking six to steer his team to title triumph. The sterling shot also reminded the spectators of Miandad’s match-winning six.
