Daryabad, Kalakot face in Lyari soccer

LAHORE - Kalakot will take on Daryabad in Group-C tie on Saturday (today) at 3 PM when PFF-KESC Lyari Football League 2011 explode into action at Karachi's Peoples Sports Complex, Mauripur Road, Karachi. The PFF will host the event in collaboration with sponsors KESC, having 32 matches - 24 league and eight elimination encounters. "Football bring people together and deliver great health and social development dividends to communities across the world. There is a broad consensus that regular physical activity is essential for the physical, mental, psychological and social development of children and adolescents. PFF-KESC Lyari Football League for U-14 booters will be a firm-footed event in this regard," said Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)'s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat. Peoples Sports Complex, venue of 6th SAFF Championship six years ago, will host matches attached to opening and closing ceremony while rest of the 30 matches are being allotted to newly-named Shaheed A Rehman Park. "Under the brilliant leadership of the PFF chief, the federation is in full swing as far as Youth Development through Football (YDF) program is concerned and Lyari Football League is one of the gigantic step in this regard," said PFF Youth Development Director Siddiq Sheikh. Today's fixture: Kalakot v Daryabad (Peoples Complex at 3 pm).
