Dr Ajmal khan, the vice chancellor of the Islamia College University in Peshawar, was kidnapped from his campus residence on 7th September. On 7th October, a video of him was released by the Taliban in which it was showed that Dr Khan was appealing to the government to negotiate his release with members of a militant outfit. It has been four months since the government has been unable to recover the vice chancellor. Is this a forgotten case or is our government ignoring his appeal? As a citizen of Pakistan, I appeal to the government to rescue the hapless vice chancellor of the Islamia College University. KHURRAM SALEEM, Islamabad, January 7.
