The police have to take initiatives to bridge the gap between the citizens and police department. One of the main reasons the law and order situation has been deteriorating within the country, is due to the distrust which is present between the community and police. Although initiatives have been taken in cities like Islamabad by the establishment of community police centers, but no such activity has been taken up at a larger scale, encompassing the entire country. If the confidence of citizens is restored in the police, the security situation will improve, with the cooperation extended by the citizens.
