LAHORE – Five dacoits equipped with automatic firearms broke into a house of Dubai-returned Pakistani national late on Saturday and successfully fled after collecting valuables worth Rs 15 million. The home (18-B) is located in New Shah Alam Market on a stone’s throw from Shadbagh police station.

According to details, five armed men entered in a home owned by a Dubai returned Pakistani Haji Aziz Ahmed. They held the entire family hostage on gunpoint and ordered the members for pin drop silence otherwise they would kill the family. Muhammad Arif, brother of Haji Aziz, told reporters that the dacoits handcuffed the family members with ropes and locked them in a separate room and looted Rs 4.2 million in cash, 52000 Dirham, three licensed Kalashnikovs, two pump actions, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 15 million. He said as, “We are not only voters but followers of Punjab Chief Minister and we have earned this money after spending our lives in Dubai, Oman and other foreign countries”. He, however, also said that they have invested their entire money in Pakistan but they have realized that the mother homeland was quite insecure to live. It may be noted here; the victim Haji Aziz along with his five brothers had recently returned from Dubai to attend the marriage ceremony of their paternal niece herein the provincial capital. Mr. Arif said that he remained phoning to police station concerned but the police officers wasted the time by asking ill logical questions. He further said police, however, reached after 75 minutes and observed the crime scene.
