PO, woman killed in different incidents


HAFIZABAD - Two persons including a woman were shot dead while two women were injured critically here in two different incidents the other night.
According to police sources, a notorious proclaimed offender of Sooianwala quarrelled with Zahera Chatha of Thatha Shamsa over a petty issue. After sometime, he along with his four accomplices returned Thatha Shamsa and allegedly started indiscriminate firing on the inmates of the Zaheer Chatha as a result of which an old woman Hameeda Bibi (grandmother mother of Zaheer) and his mother Nusrat Bibi and sister Salma Bibi sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to DHQ hospital where Heemda Bibi died while his mother and sister were referred to Lahore hospital in critical condition. The Vanike Tarar Police have registered a case and are investigating.
According to Sukheki police, a notorious Proclaim Offender wanted by the police in eight cases, Zafar alias Thatha of Parr Naseeba village was shot dead by unknown accused. His dead body was recovered from near Makki Shaba (Farooqabad), and handed over to his dependants.
Three robbed in different hits: Dacoits and swindlers have made away with cash, one hundred canisters of vegetable oil and vehicle worth over Rs one million.
According to police source, a businessman Javed Iqbal was bringing one hundred canisters of vegetable oil from Faisalabad on a vehicle. When he reached near Hakeemwala, three armed bandit intercepted him. On resistance they thrashed him and snatched away the oil and vehicle. According to another report, three armed bandits stormed into the house of Muhammad Iqbal Butt in Jamia Masjid Mohallah and took away cash, cell phone etc Rs200,000. Three swindlers deprived Rustam Masih, an employee of Govt School Qadirabad, of Rs16,000 when he withdrew the amount from a Bank on Gujranwala Road.
